What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience and creativity. After facing personal loss and health challenges, I turned to art and crochet as a way to heal — which eventually grew into Sketchual Healing, LLC, a platform that merges mindfulness, art, and mental health advocacy. To me, success means transforming challenges into purpose and continuing to show up, no matter what life brings.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to remember that healing and ambition can coexist. You don’t have to choose between caring for yourself and pursuing your goals — balance is key. Your story is your strength, so don’t be afraid to share it; authenticity inspires connection. And above all, remember that rest is part of the work — taking care of yourself allows you to keep creating and leading with purpose.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is balancing entrepreneurship with the realities of living with a chronic illness. It’s not always easy, but every time I create — whether through crochet, art, or connecting with others — I’m reminded of my purpose. Healing isn’t a straight line; it’s something we build, one mindful moment at a time. In today’s fast-paced world, there’s also tremendous opportunity to shift the narrative — to remind people that slowing down isn’t failure. Taking time to breathe, rest, and create balance between work and life is essential to avoiding burnout and truly appreciating the journey.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both work and life are creativity, advocacy, and authenticity. I believe in using art and mindfulness to support mental health while encouraging others to honor their own boundaries. Education is also central to my growth — pursuing my Bachelor’s in Business and planning my MBA has been instrumental in reclaiming confidence and expanding my impact. Recently, I acquired a property in Coldwater that I plan to transform into a space for art, learning, and community healing, reflecting my commitment to combining creativity with purpose and service.
