Her Story

About Angela

Angela Wynette is an author, motivational speaker, and certified life coach based in Dallas, Texas. She began this work in 2020 after being furloughed from her position as a flight attendant, a role she held for 12 years following a decade in nursing. Wynette earned her life coach certification and has since published seven books, including motivational and inspirational titles on overcoming grief, depression, self-esteem issues, and her own cancer diagnosis, two children's books focused on life lessons and pursuing dreams, and two journals supporting mental health habits and daily goal setting. She speaks at seminars, corporations, expos, conferences, youth summits, and schools on topics of purpose, fulfillment, and happiness. Wynette partners with The Misunderstood nonprofit, the Sister to Sister organization and Circle of Sisterhood for teen college tours, and local schools on a literacy reading program and tutoring. Her media appearances include features on Good Morning Texas and national news twice. She attributes her success to reminding herself that she is equipped for her work and getting out of her own way, and she advises young women to release imposter syndrome, build a supportive village, and take a leap of faith.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Angela

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think the key factor to my success is just reminding myself that I am equipped for this. The only person stopping me is me. Getting out of my own way, getting out of my doubts and negative thoughts, and reminding myself that I have what it takes to be successful and succeed and help others.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Get rid of the imposter syndrome. You have what you need to succeed inside of you. The only person stopping you is you. Establish your village if you don't have it. Get the right people and resources around you. Take that leap of faith.
