About Angelene
Angelene Prasanna serves as Associate Scientist and Head of Lab Operations in the research and development biotech industry. She has been with her current organization since April 2019, where she performs experiments to generate data from animal and patient samples for clinical trials. In her operations role, she manages shipments, inventory, sample management, and has built the lab infrastructure from the ground up, expanding from one rack to over 25 racks in freezers and advancing study numbers from 0001 to 993. With more than 13 years of bench experience, Prasanna takes pride in her data contributions, which have supported publications including in the New England Journal, and she has handled over 500 shipments along with securing necessary permits and licenses. She emphasizes sincerity in her work, often staying late to ensure accurate results rather than rushing, and notes that her efforts have been recognized internally within the company.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't expect any kind of recognitions or rewards. Work as if there's a camera in front of you. I have a very strong faith. I pray every morning and say Lord these are two just hands please hold my hand and do the work. Be sincere in what you do. Never ever be in a rush because you're generating data. Your reward comes from heaven.
