About Angelia

Angelia Neal serves as Chief HR Officer while preparing to transition at the end of July to her own business, GNC Strategies, where she will work as an executive coach and entrepreneur in the coaching and consulting field. With more than 25 years of experience and a communications background, she earned her coaching credential in 2015 to support her professional growth and credibility. Neal specializes in leadership coaching and executive coaching, assisting C-suite executives, those aspiring to such roles, and early career professionals as they build their brands and careers. In her HR work she has developed and executed people strategies for large federal agencies, covering the full employee lifecycle from recruitment to retirement, with mission impacts in healthcare, homeland security, and aviation. She has received numerous leadership awards, including cabinet-level honors, and belongs to the International Coaching Federation, Senior Executives Association, and Society for HR Management. Neal attributes her success to a village of mentors and sponsors along with her faith, and she emphasizes values of integrity and respect in both her professional and personal life. She remains actively involved in her community, church, and professional organizations. Neal advises young women entering the field to curate mentors, manage their personal brand intentionally, give back, treat their career as a business requiring personal investment, and practice giving and receiving feedback. She notes that rapid changes driven by AI and post-pandemic realities require ongoing agility in the workplace.

My parents modeled and instilled the importance of work ethic. Even when it wasn't convenient or the bar was low, always choose to do everything with a spirit of excellence.

Curate your village of mentors, be intentional about showing up and managing your brand, be willing to give back, treat your career as your business by making personal investments in growth, and be willing to give and receive feedback.
