About Angelica
Angelica Aguilera is a grant writer and creative writer specializing in storytelling to support social impact work. She began her creative writing career 11 years ago, competing as a finalist in the National Poetry Slam in 2016 and the Woman of the World Poetry Slam in 2017. She presented an erasure poem at a TEDx event in Vail, Colorado, and has written poetry for campaigns including Facebook's My People My Power, the Los Angeles Times, and the USL Women's Soccer League Step Up campaign in collaboration with Puma. Six years ago she earned a grant writing certificate and began freelancing, securing nearly $16 million for nonprofits, educational agencies, and municipalities. She holds a bachelor's degree received in 2018 and is a member of a collective of grant writers. Angelica is about to start a full-time position as a grant writer for a music education nonprofit in Los Angeles, where she will continue balancing grant writing with her creative pursuits while supporting women-led organizations.
