Angelica Robinson is a transportation planning and operations leader with 13 and a half years of experience in the railroad industry. Growing up in a railroad family, she began her career as a train dispatcher, working for about five years across the network, including a temporary assignment in Chicago before returning to Omaha. She then spent two and a half years in service design and network planning, developing transportation plans and seeking efficiencies, followed by two years as a director leading managers on the northeastern network from Chicago to Denver. She next served a year as Senior Director of Operating Support at the dispatching center, focusing on safety, training, hiring, and technology solutions. She now leads a team handling bulk intermodal and gateway performance design, collaborating closely with marketing and sales teams to onboard new business, improve customer experience, and drive safety and efficiencies. Her top areas of expertise are railroad operations, data analytics, and data analysis. She represents Union Pacific and the American Association of Railroads on the Gateway Performance Committee, overseeing joint meetings and train handoffs at interchange locations. Among her accomplishments, she was nominated for a selective leadership development program and led a cross-functional capstone project that continues to improve customer experience and efficiencies at the company. She was recently awarded the Rising Star from Progressive Railroading magazine for her significant impact in the rail industry.
