Angelica Ventureno is the Founder of Top Ultrasound Image and a highly experienced Ultrasound Technologist dedicated to advancing accessible, patient-centered diagnostic care. Based in Leander, Texas, she brings more than seven years of clinical expertise in diagnostic imaging, along with nearly a decade of experience specializing in preventative women’s health screenings. Through her leadership, she is redefining how ultrasound services are delivered by making high-quality, preventative imaging available beyond traditional clinical settings.

Her career journey reflects both technical depth and a passion for innovation in healthcare delivery. Angelica began expanding her skill set under the guidance of a functional medicine physician, where she trained in ultrasound applications for stem cell-guided injections to treat arthritis and joint pain. She later developed expertise in transcranial Doppler studies, supporting patients with conditions such as hypertension affecting retinal health. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, she traveled extensively across Texas, California, and Seattle, filling critical staffing gaps for ultrasound technologists. This experience exposed her to emergency care environments, where she observed firsthand the consequences of delayed diagnosis and the lack of accessible preventative screening options for the general public.

Motivated to bridge this gap, Angelica founded Top Ultrasound Image, a mobile diagnostic service designed to make preventative imaging more accessible and affordable. Drawing from her experience in mobile sonography for bed-bound and hospice patients, she recognized ultrasound as one of the safest and most versatile imaging modalities. Through her company, she offers convenient, concierge-style services including in-home visits, corporate wellness screenings, and clinic partnerships. With flexible scheduling, 20–30 minute exams, 24-hour turnaround times, and transparent cash pricing, Angelica is redefining preventative care by bringing essential health screenings directly to individuals, workplaces, and communities.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I had to believe in my vision so much that all the pieces would align. I had no idea how to do operations, connect ultrasound systems, set up patient portals, billing, or any of that stuff - I just knew this was so important to me that I was going to figure it out along the way. Every time I scan somebody who has a positive finding and they say they wouldn't have known about it otherwise, that gives me the motivation to continue working late, waking up early, and making phone calls even though I have anxiety. I had to force myself to disassociate and realize this is bigger than me - this is not about Angelica, this is about Top Ultrasound trying to guide women to do preventative healthcare. I had to separate those two things because it's not about how people are going to look at me, it's about my goal, my mission, and who it can benefit. Starting the business built me into who I am today because I had to become the person who could vouch for women and stand up for what I believe they deserve.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would let them know to start. Just, it doesn't have to be clean, it doesn't have to be proper. If you have a vision, you have to believe in it so much, and all the pieces will align. I had no idea how to do operations or any of that stuff, but I knew this was so important to me that I was going to figure it out along the way. If I didn't know something, I would tell executives or physicians 'do not worry about that, that is next on my list,' and then I would go make the phone calls and investigate. I hired a mentor, though I found her system was different than how I wanted to work mine. There is no blueprint, but that's the beauty of it - it's you making these decisions based on how you would love to be treated. There is no right or wrong when you're beginning because you either know about it or you don't, and if you don't know about it, then you learn about it. Unless you start somewhere, it doesn't have to be perfect, but you have to start somewhere in order for you to see it grow, because it takes a life of its own. You stop feeding into it, it stops growing. You have to choose your battles and see where your energy goes. Starting the business built me into who I am today because I had to be able to vouch for the women and stand up for what I believe they deserve.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think preventative health will be the future, because it's easier to treat prevention than it is to treat a chronic illness or an acute illness. A lot of times we can catch these things early and we can change people's minds about how to live, their lifestyle, and choosing the healthier option. It's not always the easiest, but when you know that your lifestyle is leading you down the wrong path, a lot of people want to turn that around quickly. And it's doable - we can reverse the aging, we can reverse fatty liver, or at the very minimum keep the inflammation in the body down so you feel better and you have a better longevity. The challenge is that a lot of people don't know about ultrasound screenings or preventative health. When I would ask people about ultrasound, they thought it's just for babies. You don't know that ultrasound can be used for a variety of different things unless there's something bad or wrong and a doctor sends you out to an imaging center. And it was very expensive for insurances, and scheduling was difficult if you're a busy mom or working or traveling - they would call to make an appointment but be told 'we can see you in 3 months' or 'we'll put you on the waitlist.' So many women got lost in the process because they just couldn't book it, couldn't afford it, or whatever the case may be.
