She ultimately chose to leave federal law enforcement to pursue a career that would allow her to have a more direct and meaningful impact on individuals, families, and the broader community. Her professional journey reflects her commitment to service, advocacy, relationship-building, integrity, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.
Outside of her work with Living Innovations, Angelina is the Co-Owner of Jack’s Walking Tacos Food Truck, a family-owned business she operates with her husband. Their entrepreneurial venture is designed not only to serve the community but also to create inclusive employment opportunities for their children with special needs. Angelina is an active Rotarian and member of the Gateway Ambassadors program, and she and her husband have been recognized as Volunteers of the Year by the Amity Chamber of Commerce. In 2026, she will serve as Mrs. Amity 2026, using her platform to further advocate for inclusion, awareness, employment opportunities, and empowerment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Angelina
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the relationships I have built throughout my career, along with hard work, consistency, and a commitment to showing up and giving my best. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people, finding common ground, and identifying opportunities to collaborate and create meaningful results together. I have never measured success solely by titles or accomplishments; instead, I believe true success is measured by the positive impact I make and by leaving the people, organizations, and communities I am part of stronger and better because of my contributions.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to work hard, remain thoughtful and intentional in everything I do, and always lead with integrity. The right people will recognize and appreciate the quality of my work, while the wrong people may notice it for different reasons, so I believe it is important to stay one step ahead and remain true to my values. I remind myself every day of why I am doing the work, the mission behind it, and most importantly, the people and communities I am doing it for.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering my industry to work hard, be intentional in everything they do, and always operate with integrity. Stay one step ahead, remain accountable to your values, and take time to reflect on whether your actions align with the person and professional you aspire to be. Most importantly, remember why you are doing the work, the mission behind it, and the people you are serving. If you consistently lead with purpose, integrity, and authenticity, I believe you can go very far in your career and in life.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunities I am focused on right now are growing a new business that my husband and I recently started, Jack’s Walking Tacos, and continuing to build something meaningful that we can eventually pass on to our children. At the same time, I remain committed to the work I do with Living Innovations and the impact it has on the community. This year, I have set an ambitious fundraising goal of $50,000, and I am excited about the opportunity to continue expanding my impact, supporting others, and creating a lasting legacy through both my professional and entrepreneurial work.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are family, relationships, connection, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I believe family extends far beyond blood, and I am grateful for my family, including my five children and my husband of 27 years, as well as the broader community of people I have connected with throughout my life. I value building genuine relationships, creating spaces where people feel comfortable being vulnerable and transparent, and using those connections to make a positive impact. Ultimately, it is the people I meet, the relationships I build, and the difference I can make in their lives that matter most to me.
