About Angelique
I've been in UI UX and tech professionally for about 5 or 6 years now, building software products at NCR Voyix. I actually started there as an intern during COVID when there was this huge boom in touchless interactions and self-checkout technology. Before that, I studied industrial design at Georgia Tech, though I originally started in aerospace engineering at CU Boulder on a presidential scholarship. My parents were artists and business owners, so I grew up with that maker mentality - I even started my own jewelry business working on physical products. But when I was about to graduate, COVID hit and the market for UI UX just exploded, so I naturally fell into it. Now I'm working on re-envisioning NCR's point of sale platform for the restaurant side, building on a modern tech stack. My day involves collaborating with designers across the organization, working closely with engineering on our design system, and making sure all the products come together in one cohesive vision. I look at product experiences and journeys for large enterprise restaurants - everything from how they set up their point of sale to how different levels of employees work with the software to how corporate manages multiple sites. A lot of what I pitched years ago when I first joined is finally coming to fruition now, which feels like a real labor of love. I'm also working with AI and learning how to use it to actually accelerate our work. Outside of my main role, I've maintained a connection with the Industrial Design School at Tech, running sponsorships where students take on NCR problems for their senior studios.
