What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of resourcefulness, adaptability, and a strong foundation in interpersonal skills. Growing up deeply involved in theater and the arts, I developed an instinct for reading situations, anticipating needs, and stepping in to fill gaps—skills that have translated seamlessly into the fast-paced demands of an executive support role. While I may not always have every answer immediately, I take pride in my ability to find solutions quickly and efficiently.
I thrive in dynamic environments where priorities are constantly shifting. Supporting operations across approximately 27 entities means no two days are the same, and that level of variety is where I do my best work. I’m most effective when I’m managing a full, active workload—balancing meetings, communications, and competing priorities while ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Equally important to my success is my commitment to leading with kindness and empathy. I believe that when you approach your work and the people around you with genuine care and respect, everything else tends to fall into place. That mindset has not only strengthened my professional relationships but has also allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the teams and leaders I support.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that the people around you genuinely want you to succeed. It’s easy to fall into the mindset of fearing failure and assuming others are judging you as harshly as you judge yourself—but in reality, that’s rarely the case. Most people, especially within strong teams and organizations, are rooting for your success and want to see you grow.
Shifting that perspective was incredibly impactful for me. It allowed me to move past hesitation and self-doubt, and instead focus on taking action and contributing with confidence. I’ve seen how fear can cause people to hold back or miss opportunities altogether, and recognizing that support exists around you helps remove that barrier.
While this advice is especially prevalent in the arts, where vulnerability and performance are constant, I believe it applies across any professional setting. When you embrace the idea that others want you to succeed, it creates space to take initiative, build stronger relationships, and show up more fully in your work.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Trust your instincts. So much of the role of being an EA, being an admin, is understanding the interpersonal dynamics, understanding the soft skills, reading the room. It's a lot of unspoken communication, and once you can figure out how to pick up on that, the job gets so much easier.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
My advice to young women entering this field is to embrace AI as a powerful tool rather than something to fear. AI will not replace our profession, but those who know how to use it effectively will have a clear advantage. It can serve as a thought partner, helping you streamline tasks, enhance productivity, and expand your impact within your role.
Stay curious and open to learning how these tools can support your work. The more comfortable you become leveraging AI, the more value you’ll bring to your team and the more opportunities you’ll create for your own growth.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, kindness, and empathy. I believe strongly in operating from a place of genuine care and respect for others—because when you lead with those qualities, everything else tends to fall into place.
I keep a simple reminder on my desk that says, “throw kindness around like confetti,” and it truly reflects how I try to show up each day. Whether I’m supporting executives or interacting with colleagues, I strive to create a positive, thoughtful environment where people feel valued and supported.
