Currently serving as an Internal Account Executive at IGP Specialty, Angella acts as a trusted liaison between agencies, brokers, and underwriters, ensuring clients receive exceptional service, market access, and tailored insurance solutions. Her career has spanned multiple sectors of the industry, including wholesale brokerage, underwriting, retail marketing, and account management, providing her with a well-rounded perspective on risk placement and client advocacy. One of Angella’s most significant professional achievements came during her tenure supporting new business development for a retail insurance agency, where she was part of an elite team that achieved the distinction of becoming the number one-performing team in the nation. Over a two-year period, she played an instrumental role in increasing departmental revenue from $250,000 to $800,000 through strategic marketing, producer development, and successful business placement. She worked closely with both experienced insurance professionals and individuals new to the industry, helping them develop their skills and grow their books of business until they advanced into middle-market roles. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to perseverance, continuous learning and a strong commitment to providing for my family. As a young single mother, I was motivated to build stable and rewarding career in the insurance industry while balancing work, education and family responsibilities. Throughout my career, I have remained dedicated to personal and professional growth, and I am proud that my example has inspired my children to pursue their own educational and career goals. Their success is one of my greatest accomplishments.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received is to be proactive rather than reactive. Success come from understanding a client's risk needs and goes before recommending solutions. This approached has helped me move beyond simply presenting options to becoming a trusted advisor who provides strategic guidance and value.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering Insurance industry is to stay the course and never give up. Be curious, invest in continuous learning and don't be afraid to ask questions. Build strong relationships, seek mentoring and trust your abilities. Insurance offers incredible opportunities for growth, leadership and making a meaningful impact on clients and communities.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are family, continuous learning, community involvement and personal growth. I enjoy cooking, traveling and creating meaningful experience with my grandchildren. I am also passionate about giving back through volunteer work that supports family affected by violence, reflecting my commitment to compassion, resilience and service to others.
