Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the principle that luck is when preparation meets opportunity—a lesson I learned from a beloved family member, who was both a brilliant thinker and an accomplished businessman. I focus on preparing myself continuously, whether that means earning new certifications, gaining knowledge, or exploring valuable experiences. Over time, opportunities naturally present themselves, and I’m able to step into them with confidence. I’ve found that when I try to force something, it rarely feels right; success tends to come most consistently when it unfolds organically.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was from the same family member. He taught me that education without application is simply entertainment. I should never stop growing and learning. This guidance has shaped my career approach: by continually preparing myself—gaining new skills, earning certifications, and learning from experiences—opportunities naturally arise.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Healthcare has changed dramatically since COVID, and entering the field now requires a strong-willed and resilient mindset. The industry needs fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and individuals ready to work hard. Work-life balance isn’t easily achieved at the start—it may take several years to find—but your dedication will pay off. If you come in eager to learn and willing to contribute creatively, you’ll find mentors and colleagues who are committed to investing in your growth, helping you build a strong foundation for a successful career.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in healthcare right now is the shortage of nurses, doctors, and staff, especially in smaller facilities that can’t compete with larger systems on pay or resources. This also creates an opportunity: we need innovative, eager learners who are willing to grow and help improve care in underserved populations, making training and mentorship a top priority.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are family, honesty, integrity, and transparency. I strive to build relationships and make decisions guided by these principles, ensuring trust and respect in every interaction.
