Her Story

About Angenique

I started my journey in fashion over 20 years ago as a teenager when I was around 14 or 15, designing my own clothes. My high school art teacher noticed my wardrobe and encouraged me to enter an art competition. My jeans were selected and displayed at the Art Institute of Chicago, which was a pivotal moment for me. From there, I started modeling the wardrobe I designed, which led me to embrace the runway and work with other designers. I've always had an eye for fashion - it's been my true passion. While I've been singing since age 2, modeling and fashion have remained at the core of what I do. Over the years, I've appeared on TV shows, in magazines, and worked as an extra, but about 4 years ago I expanded into media work. Monie's Entertainment challenged me to try red carpet hosting, and I've been interviewing celebrities ever since. I co-hosted on 102.3 radio and with Smitty's Eyes Open, completing over 60 interviews last year alone. Now I host my own show, 'Talks with Angie A. Love,' where I interview people and share their success stories. I'm currently Miss Couture LaRouge 2025, and I serve as COO of Auto Glow Up, a non-profit organization. My children are also modeling - both are signed with an agency and have booked campaigns for JCPenney, VTech toys, LeapFrog, and Bluey toys. My goal now is to focus more on model coaching, teaching others the confidence and runway skills I've developed over two decades in this industry.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell them to know exactly what they want to do. I think that is the most important, to know what you want to do, because so many people say they want to sing or model, but they have no goals and no purpose. You need to know your why. When you know your why, I feel like it's easier to figure out what direction to go in. For example, some people want to model, but then you put them in a bikini and they're uncomfortable. That's why it's so important to know what exactly you want to do - do you want to be a fashion model, do you want to show swimsuits, or do you want to do body paint? It's so important to know your why and what direction you want to go in, so that way, even if you're not signed to an agency or anything like that, you know exactly what direction to go, or anyone you work with knows the direction to push you in. That is the most important.
