Her Interview

Ten minutes with Angie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the strong educational foundation I've built throughout my career, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business from Northeastern University and a Master's degree from the University of Phoenix. Continuing to grow professionally by obtaining my insurance license and woman-owned business certification has also strengthened my expertise. Most importantly, I am passionate about the work I do. Whether in event planning over the past three years or financial planning more recently, I approach every opportunity with enthusiasm, a commitment to learning, and a genuine desire to help my clients succeed.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received was the importance of finding a great mentor. I had the privilege of training for two years with Mayo Silvers, a hospitality coach from Florida, whose guidance helped shape my approach to event planning and professional excellence. Along the way, I've also learned invaluable lessons from community leaders, pastors, and trusted vendor partners, who have reinforced the importance of serving others with integrity, compassion, and purpose. Those relationships have inspired me to lead with a service-oriented mindset in everything I do.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to never stop learning. Invest in your education, seek out professional certifications, and always look for opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills. Earning my insurance license and woman-owned business certification, in addition to my formal education, has helped me grow professionally and opened new doors. Staying curious, embracing continuous learning, and believing in your abilities will position you for long-term success.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in my field has been expanding my business while adding financial planning services over the past year. As a business owner, balancing growth, staying current with industry changes, and building trust with clients requires continuous learning and adaptability. I see this as an exciting opportunity to diversify my expertise, provide more comprehensive solutions, and make an even greater impact by helping clients achieve both their personal and financial goals.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me, both professionally and personally, are service, integrity, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Through my company, Creative Style Events, and its expansion into financial literacy services under CSC Inc., I strive to help individuals and families plan for a secure financial future while also enjoying life's special moments with the people they love. I believe true success comes from creating opportunities that positively impact others.

Giving back to my community is equally important to me. For the past three years, I've volunteered with SWEET, a Boston-based mental health nonprofit, helping organize Thanksgiving dinners, back-to-school programs, and toy drives for families in need. Outside of work, I enjoy walking for reflection, listening to audiobooks on finance and faith, and spending quality time with my two children—whether cheering them on at track meets, attending concerts, or supporting them as one is in college and the other prepares for that exciting next chapter.
