About Angie
Angie Williams serves as Virtual Design Construction Manager at Big D Construction, a company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has spent eight years in the construction industry, focusing on 3D modeling and design work that aligns with her original interest in architecture. Williams earned a bachelor's degree in construction management and an associate's degree in architecture technology from BYU Idaho after completing some prior studies in Colombia that she did not finish due to her relocation. She moved to the United States eleven years ago following a mission in London for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, during which she learned English and later applied to BYU Idaho. In addition to her professional role, Williams is active in her church as Relief Society Secretary and participates in service and volunteer work through the Women's Society group in her neighborhood. She balances her career with family life, supported by her company, while enjoying travel with her husband and two children in her free time. Williams has noted that construction offers numerous career paths for women beyond hands-on roles, including design, strategic planning, and technology innovation.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
A lot of women get scared with the work construction. But there is a million career paths that they can take within construction. They don't necessarily need to be swinging a hammer. They can be behind a screen, they can be in the design field, they could be in the strategic planning, they could be in the technology innovation industry, and there's so many things that construction can offer to women. We're very organized, we're very responsible, and we need a little bit more of that in this field.
