Anh Nguyen
I am a healthcare leader with 20 years of experience in long term care, driven by a commitment to advocacy and meaningful impact. I began my career in Houston, Texas, serving a predominantly Vietnamese resident population, where I developed a deep appreciation for culturally competent care and the importance of being a voice for those who often go unheard.
Throughout my career, I have led growth and partnership initiatives across post acute care, building collaborative relationships with hospitals, physicians, and accountable care organizations to improve outcomes for patients and communities.
Today, I lead government relations for Keystone Healthcare, representing a rapidly expanding network of skilled nursing facilities across Texas. I work closely with legislators to bridge the gap between policy and patient care, ensuring that the needs of residents, families, and providers are understood and prioritized.
I am passionate about elevating and dignifying long term care through leadership, advocacy, and lasting change.
• I hold a Bachelor of Science in Communication and am currently an MBA candidate, strengthening my ability to lead, influence, and drive strategic growth in a complex healthcare landscape.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success not only to maintaining a humble mindset, but also to the unwavering support of my husband and children. They are my foundation and constant reminder of why I strive to grow and lead with purpose.
Humility creates space for growth, and I work to remain teachable in everything I do. Staying grounded allows me to continuously improve and approach each opportunity with intention.
I believe that when you serve others, you ultimately serve yourself. That perspective fuels my passion for learning and my commitment to constant growth. I embrace every experience as a chance to get better, knowing there is always more to learn.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to never stop learning and to always remain teachable. No matter your role or level of experience, there is always something new to learn. Staying open, curious, and willing to grow is what creates long term success.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My biggest advice to young women, and anyone entering this field, is to stay passionate about learning. Always leave room for growth and never assume you have it all figured out.
Commit to improving in everything you do, and lead with a mindset of service. When you serve others well, you ultimately serve yourself.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is the perception that long-term care doesn’t deserve increased funding through Medicaid and Medicare. There’s also a misconception that we’re large corporations that can easily absorb the cost of care, when reimbursement rates simply don’t match the reality of what it takes to provide quality services. In fact, Texas ranks among the lowest in the nation for reimbursement.
At the same time, increasing regulations make the work even harder. Many policymakers believe higher pay should come with stricter oversight, but that overlooks the ongoing shortages in nurses, CNAs, and therapists. Heavy regulation combined with staffing shortages—worsened by COVID, which we still haven’t fully recovered from—makes it difficult to operate and maintain quality care.
I address these challenges through advocacy and storytelling, working to elevate and dignify long-term care through policy and meaningful change.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me, both professionally and personally, are humility, service, and continuous growth. My Christian faith is the foundation of how I live and lead. It shapes my perspective, keeps me grounded, and reminds me to serve others with purpose.
My family is my anchor. My husband and children keep me focused on what truly matters and give deeper meaning to the work I do.
I strive to stay humble and teachable, always open to learning and improving. I believe that when you serve others well, you ultimately serve a greater purpose, and that mindset drives me to keep growing and making a meaningful impact.
