About Anita
Anita Brown, RN, BSN, is a healthcare professional, published author, transformational leader, faith-based coach, and wellness advocate dedicated to helping people move from brokenness to wholeness through education, empowerment, and purpose.
With more than 35 years of healthcare experience, Anita’s journey began as a candy striper volunteer with a heart to serve others and evolved into a lifelong calling in nursing, patient advocacy, healthcare leadership, and holistic wellness. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from D’Youville University in 1990 and has served across diverse healthcare settings, including medical-surgical care, geriatrics, home health, hospice, family practice, hospital systems, long-term care, and healthcare reimbursement operations.
As a Registered Nurse and health advocate, Anita has dedicated her career to improving the patient experience, empowering individuals with knowledge, and helping others navigate their healthcare journeys with compassion and confidence. Her personal experience as a Lupus survivor and health transformation advocate has fueled her passion for inspiring others to overcome limitations, reclaim their identity, and embrace a life of wellness and purpose.
Anita is the visionary founder of The Elect Lady, a faith-centered transformational movement focused on empowering women—particularly women over 45—to rediscover their God-given identity, heal from life’s challenges, and step boldly into their purpose. Through her teaching, writing, coaching, and speaking, she encourages women to transform their pain into purpose and their trials into testimonies.
She is the author of The Elect Lady: Transforming Challenges Into Triumphs and The Bridge To Transformation: A 31-Day Prayer & Devotional Journal, resources designed to guide individuals through spiritual growth, personal transformation, prayer, and intentional living. Her message reflects her personal testimony of resilience, faith, and restoration.
Recognized as an Influential Woman, Anita represents resilience, compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to service. Her life’s mission is captured in her mandate:
“To serve as a steward of transformation—leading people from brokenness to wholeness by educating them with truth, empowering them to embrace their identity, and exhorting them into their God-given purpose so they become living testimonies of grace, mercy, and transformation.”
Through nursing, ministry, entrepreneurship, authorship, and advocacy, Anita Brown continues to build bridges of hope, healing, and transformation—one life at a time.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Anita
01What do you attribute your success to?
My resilience and determination. Knowing that I have a dream, a goal or aspirations, and regardless of the challenges, I don't give up.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't let compensation be your primary motivation. Follow the work that allows you to use your God-given gifts to serve others with excellence, and the rewards will follow.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take a look at your heart. Is this something that you're doing to help society, to help mankind, or is this something that you're doing, looking for a paycheck? It has to be a calling, it's not a career. You wear so many hats - counselor, minister, nurse, encourager, coach, teacher.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is cutting through the noise to authentically connect with women over 45 who need hope, healing, and practical guidance. My focus is on building trust by sharing value-driven content rather than simply promoting products or books.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My faith in God is the root and foundation of everything. I have always been an advocate for people especially in challenging situations. Valuing humanity, treating people like human beings with respect, doing it in love and compassion.
