Anita Calandra
Anita Calandra is a holistic health practitioner and founder of Natural Wellness by Anita based in Palm Coast, Florida. She specializes in guiding women through chronic health challenges and stubborn weight concerns by focusing on root-cause, non-pharmaceutical approaches. Through her practice, she emphasizes sustainable lifestyle changes centered on nutrition, education, and reducing exposure to environmental and household toxins.
Her journey into holistic health began unexpectedly while working at Whole Foods, where she became increasingly aware of organic living and the potential impact of toxins in everyday products. This experience sparked a deep commitment to learning more about nutrition and integrative wellness, leading her to pursue formal education in holistic health practice, holistic nutrition, and a Master’s in Integrative Health Sciences. With this foundation, she transitioned from a previous career path into building her own wellness practice, motivated by a desire to help others achieve better health through natural means.
Today, Anita blends her academic training with personal experience to support clients in making realistic, sustainable health improvements. She works closely with individuals seeking to improve energy, manage weight, and address chronic conditions by making informed lifestyle and dietary changes. Her philosophy is rooted in the belief that small, consistent steps can lead to meaningful transformation, and she is dedicated to educating and empowering others to take control of their well-being.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a strong commitment to learning and a passion for sharing knowledge about the impact of our environment, food, and everyday products on our health. As I became more aware of these influences, I felt driven to help others understand the root causes of their health challenges and empower them to make more informed choices. This purpose continues to guide and motivate my work.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to never give up and to follow your passion wholeheartedly. Even if things don’t turn out as planned, you’ll be grateful you tried rather than living with regret. I’ve learned that pursuing what you truly want—despite uncertainty or imperfect timing—is incredibly fulfilling. Taking that leap, even before you feel fully ready, can lead to growth, valuable experiences, and a deeper sense of purpose.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is the growing acceptance of holistic and integrative approaches to health, which has accelerated significantly since COVID-19. As people become more proactive about their well-being, there is increasing demand for practitioners who take a whole-person approach to care. At the same time, shortages in traditional healthcare providers are creating space for nurse practitioners and other professionals to step in and offer more accessible, often more holistic forms of care in many states.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are following my passion and encouraging others to pursue their dreams, as well as prioritizing family and community support. I am also deeply committed to promoting natural, non-toxic living and maintaining a dedication to continuous learning and education.
