About Anita
Anita Jarman is a research analyst and policy analyst specializing in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the education field. Her work centers on identifying and creating opportunities for student development at these institutions, informed by her background in grant writing, policy analysis, and direct student programming.
Jarman earned her degree from Delaware State University, where a study abroad experience in 2008 took her to Beijing as a journalist covering the Olympics at Beijing Sport University. This international exposure, combined with her master's degree in sports management and later policy studies in Alabama, shaped her commitment to building sustainable, research-based programs. She founded the Geely Project nonprofit in 2014 to support HBCU students through initiatives such as study abroad and athletic camps, grounding all efforts in data and doctoral-level research.
She attributes her professional success to her faith in God, specifically drawing strength from Isaiah 40:31, and advises young women entering the field to identify their passion to find purpose while trusting God first.
