Her Story

About Anita

After spending over 15 years as an executive in the tech industry, where I managed multiple countries for major companies like Google and Applied along with numerous startups, I experienced a profound life transition. I was in an abusive relationship and facing pressure to take antidepressants, which in my situation would have been dangerous. Coming from India, where we don't typically rely on medications, I chose to heal naturally. I started every day with Zumba or kickboxing and immersed myself in self-development courses, walking on fire 10 times with Tony Robbins and completing programs with Landmark, Oprah, Brendan Burchard, Chloe Madanes, and Marisa Peer. I pursued coaching certifications in NLP, hypnotherapy, and past life regression. The more I learned, the more I could understand what I went through and stop blaming myself, seeing the situation in its true light. I made the conscious decision not to enter another relationship until I had fully healed, refusing to bleed on someone who hadn't hurt me. It took years, but during that healing journey I wrote an award-winning book. At a time when I used to think I wasn't even good enough to live, I transformed into someone who believes I can achieve anything I set my mind to. Once I healed and realized others needed to know about natural healing options, I founded Happiness Factors about 8 years ago. My expertise is turning every curveball life brings into an ace, taking people from stress and burnout to happy and productive in just 15 minutes through our app, which combines research from neuroscientists, therapists, doctors, and practitioners using NLP, hypnotherapy, mudras, mantras, yoga, meditation, EMDR, and other holistic methodologies.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell them to not give up too easily. I've noticed, especially mentoring younger people and foster kids, that sometimes they face one setback and want to give up, but that's not how life works. You have to keep on trying until you succeed. I believe that if you try hard enough, you will succeed, no matter what. Sometimes you have to try a thousand times, sometimes only once, but it depends on the level of difficulty. I would also tell them to seek guidance and mentorship from people who have more life experience, because that will help them avoid the potholes and get successful much faster. And I would tell them to include some mental wellness practice in their daily routine, like even a 5-minute meditation or a nature walk, or something that keeps them from getting into wrong habits and peer pressure. One of the things I recommend is to create an anchor of whatever made you really happy, so when life happens and you're falling off track, go to that anchor. And set an intention. For me, every day when I wake up in the morning, before I even step out of bed, I put both my palms together, look at them, and say that it's going to be a really amazing day, the best day of my life. That sets such a positive tone.
