About Anita

As Vice President of Programs & Marketing at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC), Anita Wiglesworth has transformed the cultural landscape of Santa Rosa, California through her visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to the arts. Drawing from over two decades of experience, she masterfully orchestrates a symphony of talent buying, strategic planning, marketing, and patron relations that brings world-class entertainment to Northern California.

At the helm of LBC's artistic programming, Anita curates an impressive roster of over 300 performances and community events annually, touching the lives of nearly half a million patrons. Her strategic acumen has led to remarkable achievements, including a 43% surge in ticket revenue and the successful presentation of legendary artists such as Harry Connick Jr, John Legend, Diana Krall, Chrissie Hynde, and Jerry Seinfeld.

Anita's impact extends far beyond the stage. She spearheaded the creation of a stunning one-acre sculpture garden, showcasing monumental works by local and regional artists, and founded the LBC's Latino Advisory Council to ensure diverse community representation. Her commitment to accessibility is exemplified through an annual free event that welcomes 4,000 community members, including underserved populations, while her dedication to education has expanded outreach programs to enrich the lives of over 40,000 students each year.

A firm believer in nurturing future leaders, Anita helped establish a thriving state-wide mentor program in the presenting industry in 2012. Her expertise and leadership have been recognized through numerous appointments, including service on the Board of California Presenters, Western Arts Alliance committees, and the Independent Presenter's Concert Network's Membership Committee. Her contributions to arts education were instrumental in creating A Blueprint for Creative Schools as part of Superintendent Torlakson's Arts Education Task Force.

Originally from Richmond, Virginia, with roots along the east coast from New York to Florida, Anita found her true home in Santa Rosa, California. A graduate of Moore College of Art & Design with degrees in art education and fine arts, she remains a practicing artist, finding joy in painting and welding. Her artistic spirit extends to volunteering as an art docent in her children's school district, embodying her belief that the arts serve as a powerful catalyst for unity, breaking down barriers, and building stronger communities.
