About Ankita
Ankita Sahni serves as a biomarker scientist at Diagonal Therapeutics in Watertown, Massachusetts. With six years of experience in the biotechnology field, she translates scientific discoveries into therapies that improve patient lives, contributing to biomarker strategy, translational medicine, cross-functional clinical operations, and research on disease pathways for conditions such as the rare disease HHT. Sahni supports first-in-human clinical trials and leads projects aimed at understanding biological mechanisms to identify drug candidates. She earned her bachelor's degree in pharmacy from India and her master's degree in pharmacology in the United States in 2023. She recently completed a certification in good clinical practices from Noardis. Outside her professional role, Sahni organizes patient advocacy events, including the Boston O2Breathe Walk in Quincy, Massachusetts, and the Summer HHT Patient Panel, while supporting donation efforts for patient research. She attributes her success to her family's support, particularly her mother's dedication to her education, along with her own hard work, confidence, resilience, kindness, compassion, and optimistic mindset.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my family, especially my mom who worked hard to support my education. Also confidence, working hard, believing in myself, never giving up, leading with kindness and compassion, dreaming big, and staying optimistic.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never be shy to ask questions and to learn. The greatest recipe to being successful is to have the ability to be learnable and teachable, even if it's a dumb question.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Strive to be resilient, hardworking, always believe in yourselves, and have an overly optimistic mindset. Being overly optimistic doesn't cost a lot, but that's when you dream big and the universe comes together to help you reach your goals.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Hard work, resilience, kindness, dreaming big, being passionate, compassionate towards others who are learning, and having patience with people still growing.
