About Ann

Ann Hubbard is a retired Pedagogical Modeling Instructor, musician, and author based in Lucerne, California. With a career rooted in the arts, education, and creative development, she has dedicated decades to helping students build confidence and self-expression through hands-on artistic experiences. She studied at the Juilliard School, Emerson College, England, and Rudolf Steiner College, earning an Associate’s Degree focused on bassoon, sculpture, and education.

Before transitioning into arts education, Ann built a distinguished career as a bassoonist, performing with community orchestras including the Lake County Symphony, Ukiah Symphony, and Symphony of the Redwoods in Fort Bragg. She also founded and performed with the La Voce del Vento Chamber Players, bringing woodwind chamber music performances to audiences in San Francisco and Lake County. Her musical background continues to influence her approach to teaching, blending creativity, discipline, and artistic exploration.

For more than a decade, Ann served as an Instructor and Events Manager at Childish Fancies, where she developed Waldorf-inspired clay pedagogy programs for students from third through eighth grade. Her work focuses on using art as a tool for neurological development, confidence-building, and personal growth. Now retired from active teaching, she is authoring The Child Stories, a resource designed to provide accessible clay curriculum projects for homeschooling families and public school educators while continuing her mission of promoting the transformative power of arts education.
