Her Interview
Ten minutes with Ann Marie
01What do you attribute your success to?
A big part of it is the support that my husband and I have around us, whether it is our family, even though both of our families are back in Canada, we grew up in families where we felt very supported. I feel very lucky to recognize that part of my success today is due to my parents and the way they raised me. And then also my commitment to never giving up. I love surrounding myself with people who are positive, inclusive.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Say yes to these opportunities that are a little scary, or maybe you feel like you don't belong yet, or you feel like maybe everybody else has got more experience than you just for the lessons and for what you can take away. There's always something to get out of those experiences and opportunities.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Commitment and integrity. When you say something, do it. If everything else fails, you have your word, you have your integrity, and people know they can count on you. I pay attention to details. As I get older, focus on your strengths and make them even better.
