About Ann
Ann Ngigi serves as a Senior Bioprocess Associate in downstream manufacturing at Bristol Myers, where she contributes to the production of biologics and vaccines. With six years in the pharmaceutical field, she began in 2021 as a formulation technician and progressed through manufacturing associate positions before reaching her current senior role. Ann holds an associate's degree in biotechnology and is actively pursuing a bachelor's degree. She is a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) and the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA), organizations that support her professional development through webinars and conferences. Outside her technical work, Ann volunteers with Vosin, a Kenya-based charity aiding children in need, and serves her church as a deaconess on the finance and administration teams while participating in evangelism efforts. She attributes her success to maintaining an open mind, being proactive, and embracing new challenges stemming from her humble beginnings. Ann advises young women entering the industry to pursue opportunities confidently, recognizing their equal capabilities and valuable insights.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Having an open mind welcomed the idea and helped me do more research. Being proactive and going beyond what is presented. Coming from humble beginnings, I look for something that can make me live a better life and excel. I go for new challenges.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Be the best you can.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Go for it. Don't look down on yourself as a woman. You have the same capabilities as a man. You'll be thrown into situations where you think only men can do this, but you have the capability. Your insights are valuable.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being morally upright, honesty and integrity. Doing the best the first time. If you have an opportunity to help someone, pass it on and share that knowledge.
