Her Story

About Ann

Ann Wartz serves as an owner’s representative construction consultant and document control manager overseeing multiple data center campuses across the Phoenix Valley region. In her role, she manages document control systems, data flow processes, and ERP platforms used by contractors and subcontractors to ensure accurate, consistent, and compliant documentation throughout the construction lifecycle. She is responsible for maintaining version control, workflow integrity, and information accuracy across complex, fast-paced mission-critical construction environments. With over a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry, Wartz built her career from entry-level field positions such as hole watcher and fire watcher to advanced operational and documentation roles. In November, she transitioned into the data center construction sector, where she now applies her deep field experience to document control and owner-side consulting. Her background includes extensive ERP training, operational documentation systems, and hands-on project coordination, giving her a strong foundation in both field execution and digital project management tools. Wartz is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business construction and continues to expand her technical expertise through certifications including OSHA 10–30 and AI-Certified to focused more on building her very own document control systems. She has also launched her own document control business, operating as an independent contractor providing owner’s representative services. Driven by resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning, she brings a field-tested perspective to construction documentation while supporting efficiency, compliance, and communication across large-scale data center projects.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Ann

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my Ałchini (Children) and my faith in Diyin (God). They are my foundation and the driving force behind everything I do.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is that growth often requires discomfort. Moving up the next level can feel challenging, unbalanced, and even scary, but those experiences are part of life. I’ve learned that the key is to keep moving forward despite those difficulties.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage young women to never be afraid of change. When one door closes, another one opens, and every transition is an opportunity for growth and new beginnings.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is its continued male dominance, which can impact representation and advancement opportunities. At the same time, I see this as an opportunity for more women to step forward, lead, and create meaningful change within the industry.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are my faith and respect for others. These principles guide my decisions, my relationships, and the way I approach both my personal and professional life.
