Her Story

About Ann

I have been in the insurance field for about 20 years as a Senior Account Manager specializing in commercial property and casualty. My daily responsibilities include preparing proposals, handling marketing, servicing clients with policy changes and explanations, and collaborating with a producer on renewals. I earned my master's degree in business administration in 2021, hold the Certified Insurance Counselors designation, and am currently completing a Doctor of Business Administration program. One of my proudest achievements was leading a team of 23 people, and after I left that role, many staff members departed as well, which speaks to my leadership style of advocating for others' success.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Ann

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to God, my husband who has supported me every step of the way, and my first boss Paul who took a chance on me. We still talk today and I am forever indebted to him.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I received is to have dignity and be true to yourself.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Know your value. Know what you're worth. Put in your work, and know your value.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

In the insurance industry right now, we have a whole generation retiring with nobody to fill positions. We are losing a lot of education and knowledge, and we are not attracting enough people to the field.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty is key - if someone makes a mistake, they should own up to it. Faith in God is important to me. I believe in leading by example and doing as I say.
