Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the strong values instilled in me by my father—particularly work ethic, punctuality, and leading by example—along with the guidance of mentors like Bob Kaplan, who emphasized integrity, accountability, and keeping my word. These influences, combined with my adaptability, positive attitude, and commitment to teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement, have shaped my professional approach and contributed to the success I have achieved today.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that “pressure creates diamonds.” It’s a mindset I’ve carried with me for years and one that reflects how I approach challenges—I perform at my best in high-pressure environments where I can manage multiple priorities and deliver strong results. Equally influential has been the guidance from my father, who instilled in me a strong work ethic, integrity, and core values that continue to shape my decisions and professional conduct today. Together, these lessons have taught me to embrace challenges, stay grounded in my principles, and continuously grow through experience.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

For young women entering this field, my strongest advice is to build the ability to perform under pressure. Success in this role depends less on your degree and more on how well you handle fast-paced, high-stakes situations—problem-solving in real time, managing crises, and communicating clearly and calmly. You need to know when to escalate issues appropriately, offer solutions that balance client satisfaction with business goals, and collaborate across multiple departments. This is a demanding environment with high expectations and constant challenges, so resilience, adaptability, and strong judgment are essential. The technical aspects can be taught, but the ability to stay composed, think critically, and deliver results under pressure is what will set you apart and sustain your career.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is navigating the impact of ongoing geopolitical tensions on global travel, particularly in regions like Egypt and the broader Middle East. These situations directly affect itineraries, supplier operations, and client confidence, requiring constant adjustments and clear communication with both partners and travelers. At the same time, this presents an opportunity to demonstrate flexibility and resilience—by rescheduling trips, adding capacity to accommodate displaced groups, and maintaining strong relationships with agencies and suppliers. Success in this environment depends on the ability to respond quickly, manage uncertainty, and continue delivering a high-quality client experience despite external disruptions.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value work-life harmony, integrity, and overall well-being in both my personal and professional life. Setting boundaries, prioritizing time to recharge, and maintaining balance help me stay productive and avoid burnout. I also believe in authenticity, accountability, and aligning my actions with my values, as strong personal well-being directly supports professional success and long-term fulfillment.
