Her Story

About Anna

Anna Boulier is a nonprofit founder, brand strategist, designer, and author based in Cartersville, Georgia. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Access Unleashed, a nonprofit dedicated to making hidden disabilities visible through education, empowerment, advocacy, and support for service-dog partnerships. Her advocacy grew from her own experience navigating life with celiac disease and the challenges of living with a condition that is not always immediately visible to others. Through Access Unleashed, she works to promote greater understanding of hidden disabilities, accessibility, service-dog etiquette, and inclusive communities.

Alongside her nonprofit leadership, Anna is the founder and brand strategist behind Owl Simply Design, where she helps businesses clarify their messaging and develop meaningful, cohesive brands through graphic design, branding, content strategy, and visual communication. Her professional background also includes content creation, professional organizing, and design, supported by her education in Fine and Studio Arts from Agnes Scott College and Interior Design at Georgia State University. She also leads Me and Barley, a gluten-free travel and lifestyle platform that shares resources, personal experiences, and advocacy for people living with celiac disease while building awareness around accessibility and inclusion.

Anna is also an accomplished storyteller and self-published author, writing both Christian romance through her Grace Series and cozy mysteries through the Sam Sunday Mystery Series. Her passion for storytelling extends into her advocacy work through children's books featuring service dogs, including stories designed to help young readers understand hidden disabilities, service animals, and compassionate interactions. Through her combination of advocacy, design, faith, and storytelling, Anna strives to create work that helps people feel seen, understood, and supported while encouraging communities to replace assumptions with education, empathy, and meaningful action.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Anna

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my faith and my mother’s unwavering support. Her encouragement gave me the confidence to pursue my nonprofit work and writing, even when it required sacrifice.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve received is to never let adversity define my future. I’ve learned to choose empowerment over defeat and use challenges as opportunities for meaningful growth and change.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to choose to be victors, not victims. Don’t let difficult circumstances define your story. Find your voice, surround yourself with people who support you, and build a community that believes in your potential.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges is the lack of understanding about hidden disabilities and service-dog accessibility. People with invisible conditions often face skepticism and misunderstanding while also dealing with significant medical and financial challenges.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are faith, grace, empathy, communication, and active listening. My experiences have taught me to listen first, avoid assumptions, and lead with understanding and compassion.
