About Anna
Anna Bressler is a UX Designer and Contractor based in the Lancaster, PA area. She graduated from Penn State University in 2025 after discovering her passion for UX design during her studies, where she integrated her creative background in traditional art with technology to create user-friendly apps and websites. As a solo contractor who founded her own business rather than joining larger firms, Anna has spent about two years building her practice since 2023, handling client outreach, project segmentation throughout her day, and occasional collaborations with developers. She is a secondary member of the Pennsylvania State commerce organization and attributes her progress to perseverance, noting the time required to gain momentum and secure suitable clients. Anna values advocating for users while balancing client expectations, maintaining honesty and transparency in all dealings, and she advises surrounding oneself with trustworthy people while being selective about advice received.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Perseverance and just keep going, especially when building momentum as a contractor takes a long time to find clients and projects.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Just keep going and persevere. It is very true especially when doing contracting because it takes a really long time to get momentum and enough projects.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Perseverance is very important, keep going. Be very careful about who you are taking advice from and who you listen to. Make sure you surround yourself with good people who are trustworthy.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Putting users first and advocating for them while balancing client needs, along with honesty and transparency when dealing with clients and users.
