In this position, she focuses on hiring special education therapists to support students with Independent Education Plans (IEPs) in K-12 settings, applying a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens to expand talent pools and remove barriers for providers. Her approach draws from her extensive background as a licensed marriage and family therapist in California, where she obtained her license in 2017 after earning a master's degree in marriage and family therapy in 2013. She also holds a diversity, equity, and inclusion certificate from Cornell University, which informs her leadership style emphasizing empathy, active listening, and cultural competencies. Prior to her current role, Anna worked in the mental health tech space, recruiting clinicians to serve adult populations, families, and children through employee assistance programs in a virtual capacity. Across her twelve years in the mental health field, she has transitioned from direct care to recruitment, viewing her work as a way to impact a larger population by ensuring high clinical standards and quality care. Anna values reflective practices, such as scheduling calendar blocks to acknowledge accomplishments and maintain self-awareness, advice she considers among the best she has received.
