Anna Meusel

Anna Meusel is the associate director of external communications at EMD Serono, Inc, where she leads media relations, social and digital strategy, executive thought leadership and reputational positioning for the business. In her previous role at Thermo Fisher Scientific, she was responsible for driving strategic development and execution of integrated communications for the pharma services business - a segment of 20,000-plus colleagues globally - spanning everything from customer- and patient-centric storytelling to targeted campaigns and programming, executive and change communications, and managing thought leadership and public relations. She began her career at MilliporeSigma, where she joined the life science communications team as an intern before holding roles of increasing responsibility in external, executive, and strategy communications over nearly five years, as well as completing an international work assignment in Germany.

After graduating from Saint Michael’s College with a degree in English and media, journalism, and the digital arts, she received a post-graduate certificate in publishing from the University of Oxford and Columbia University’s joint program. She has also studied literature at Hertford College at Oxford. She holds a volunteer leadership role as the director of communications for Tomorrow's Women TODAY - a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing women leaders. Outside of work, she volunteers for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, participating in their annual Xtreme Hike fundraiser and assisting with the Massachusetts/Rhode Island chapter's social media and event production content.
