Her Interview
Ten minutes with Anna
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to setting clear goals and identifying one top priority each day. Balancing multiple on-campus jobs alongside a double major in Computer Science and Business and a minor in Japanese requires discipline and focus. By completing my most important task first before moving on to everything else, I stay organized, make consistent progress, and avoid feeling overwhelmed. Focusing on one priority each day has helped me achieve more than trying to do everything at once.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is: "Show up for yourself." If you don't speak up for yourself, others may never know what you're capable of. I've learned the importance of advocating for myself, sharing my work, and making my accomplishments visible. Being active on LinkedIn and posting about my experiences has helped me build meaningful connections, showcase my growth, and stand out professionally. Opportunities often come to those who are willing to put themselves forward.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Show up for yourself and believe in your potential. Take the time to understand your strengths and weaknesses, but don't spend all your energy trying to fix every weakness. Instead, use your strengths to create opportunities while continuously improving where you can. Develop strong time management skills, stay goal-oriented, and approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset. Most importantly, don't be afraid to put yourself out there—your ideas, accomplishments, and unique perspective deserve to be seen and heard.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in technology today is the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence. AI is transforming how people work by automating repetitive tasks, improving decision-making, and increasing productivity across industries. At the same time, one of the greatest challenges is ensuring that AI systems are accurate, secure, ethical, and centered around real user needs. As AI becomes more integrated into everyday life and enterprise technology, there is a growing need for professionals who can combine technical expertise with critical thinking, creativity, and a human-centered approach. I believe the future belongs to those who embrace continuous learning, adapt to new technologies, and build solutions that create meaningful value for people and organizations.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are responsibility, reliability, and making a meaningful contribution wherever I go. I believe in taking ownership of my work, being proactive rather than waiting to be asked, and following through on my commitments. I also value adaptability, continuous learning, and collaboration, because the best results come from working with others and embracing new challenges. Whether in my professional or personal life, I strive to be someone others can depend on and someone who leaves every team and organization stronger than when I joined.
