Her Story
About Anna
I am currently a Sales Development Representative at Workday, where I support our financial services majors customers. In my role, I help HR and financial professionals innovate and scale their current HR and finance platforms, working closely with sales leaders to ensure our customers are fully adopting and utilizing Workday to the best of their ability. My day-to-day includes general outreach on our products, as well as helping coordinate and run in-person events that we host. I joined Workday through the Generation Workday Program as my first professional role out of college, and it'll be 2 years in July. One of my biggest achievements has been executing the marketing gig program, where I helped run an end-to-end customer-facing webinar highlighting Workday Success Plans. That webinar brought in engagement from 170 unique accounts with high sustained engagement following the event. My psychology background from St. Lawrence has really translated well to sales in terms of being able to work with people efficiently. Looking ahead, my next step would be to become an account executive here at Workday.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I currently work with a mentor who was one of my previous AEs, and one of the biggest things she has taught me is to keep a running list of my accomplishments. She also emphasized networking with as many people as I can within Workday, whether that be sales leaders or customers as well, just trying to grow my network as wide as possible. This advice has really shaped how I approach my career development and relationship building.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I think the biggest thing for sales is the confidence that you have, both internally as well as externally with customers. Coming in, I feel like my confidence in myself and my ability to be able to execute has grown so much. I would say always trust yourself and know what you can do, know the value that you bring to the table. Always stay true to that and trust yourself and be confident in your ideas.
