Her Interview
Ten minutes with Anna
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my determination not to settle. My mother was a single parent who worked as a pharmacy technician for more than 30 years, and after retiring, she felt that she had settled in some aspects of her career. Her experience inspired me to pursue opportunities that are meaningful to me and to continually strive for more. I have learned to be intentional about my goals, remain true to myself, and pursue what I want rather than accepting something simply because it is comfortable or familiar.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to take negative feedback and mistakes with perspective, learn from them, and make a conscious effort not to repeat the same mistake twice. Every experience can provide an opportunity for growth, so I believe it is important to remain open to constructive criticism and use it to improve. I have also learned the value of maintaining a positive attitude, because approaching challenges with optimism and a constructive mindset often leads to more positive outcomes.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to recognize their own strength and potential. The world is full of opportunities, and we are capable of achieving far more than others may sometimes believe. Women already demonstrate tremendous strength and resilience in both their personal and professional lives, and we should carry that same confidence into our careers. Do not allow anyone to tell you that you cannot achieve your goals. Believe in yourself, pursue the opportunities you want, and confidently go after the success you deserve.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field right now is navigating change - one thing that always stays the same is everything changes, and you have to be ready to pivot at all times even if its challenging to do so. However, I believe challenges can be overcome by maintaining a positive mindset, staying adaptable, and focusing on the opportunities that change can create. Approaching transitions with optimism and resilience helps teams move forward and find new ways to grow and succeed.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are authenticity, respect, and treating others with kindness. I believe in showing up as my true, authentic self and encouraging others to do the same. I also strive to treat people the way I want to be treated, following the timeless principle of treating others with fairness, respect, and consideration.
