Anya Ustupkina
Anya Ustupkina is a healthcare sales professional and physician liaison based in Atlanta, Georgia, working as a contractor for Full Circle PR. In her current role, she supports pediatric medical practices—most notably Pediatric ENT of Atlanta—by focusing on physician relations, referral development, and strategic patient outreach. As the only representative from her organization in Atlanta, she operates independently in the field while contributing to a larger women-owned and women-operated team built in Tampa, Florida. Her work centers on strengthening healthcare partnerships and improving access to specialized care through relationship-driven marketing.
Anya’s path into healthcare sales was shaped by a deep personal and professional pivot in 2021, following earlier experience in commercial real estate and business development. Before entering her current field, she spent time working in clinical environments, including over two years as an emergency room scribe, where she witnessed firsthand the emotional and mental health challenges patients face. That experience reinforced her passion for mental health advocacy and ultimately inspired her transition into healthcare, where she returned to school for post-baccalaureate studies in pre-medicine and biology at Georgia Gwinnett College while remaining active in student leadership and academic organizations.
Today, Anya blends her background in business, healthcare exposure, and writing to bring a thoughtful, communication-driven approach to physician liaison work. She is known for building trust-based relationships with providers, supporting practice growth, and contributing to patient volume recovery efforts through consistent outreach and strategic collaboration. Beyond her professional responsibilities, she is also a writer and mental health advocate, with a growing interest in public speaking and storytelling as tools for awareness and impact. Her long-term vision is to continue bridging healthcare, communication, and mental wellness to help improve outcomes for both patients and providers.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being intentional about building and maintaining strong professional relationships, including actively seeking mentorship and investing time in repairing and strengthening connections within practices. I’ve also been willing to pivot when necessary, allowing my career path to evolve in ways that better align my interests in both business and healthcare.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of the most impactful pieces of advice I received came from a college professor who encouraged me to spend $50–$100 to take someone to lunch who is already in the role I hope to be in within the next 5–10 years. The purpose is to ask questions, listen, and learn from their experience. That lesson taught me the value of intentional mentorship and real-world insight beyond the classroom.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would offer the same advice I was given—be proactive in reaching out to people who are where you aspire to be. Use platforms like LinkedIn or simple coffee or lunch meetings to learn from their experiences. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t receive a response right away; persistence matters. Most importantly, allow relationships and genuine curiosity to guide your growth and opportunities.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is navigating provider turnover and the lingering impact of COVID-related declines in patient volume, which has also affected trust and continuity within practices. At the same time, there are strong opportunities to rebuild and grow patient volume through strategic marketing, relationship repair, and stronger team collaboration. I also see meaningful potential in expanding my voice through public speaking and writing, particularly around mental health awareness and advocacy.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My core values are faith, community involvement, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for others. I am deeply passionate about mental health advocacy and place a high value on investing in meaningful, authentic relationships both personally and professionally.
