Her Interview
Ten minutes with Anna
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being fiercely independent and willing to pursue ambitious goals, even when they initially seemed out of reach. Once I realized that opportunities were possible for me, I learned to pursue them with determination and persistence. I do not give up easily, and I believe that being relentless in working toward my goals has opened many doors throughout my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to remain true to myself, speak up, and make decisions that support my own well-being and growth. I believe it is important to recognize when something is no longer right for you and to have the confidence to make a change rather than remaining in an uncomfortable situation simply because it feels secure.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the legal profession is to be present, be proactive, and take up space. Even if you are unsure whether your ideas will be well received, speak up and contribute. Be creative, bring your ideas forward, and do not be afraid to put yourself in situations that may initially feel intimidating. Sometimes you have to act with confidence before you fully feel confident; with experience, that confidence can become genuine. Most importantly, stay true to yourself and recognize the value you bring.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
At this stage of my career, I see an opportunity to continue growing with The Hartford and potentially move into a leadership position. My current role as a Senior Litigation Analyst allows me to draw on my litigation experience while focusing on legal billing and developing strong relationships with outside counsel. I see continued professional growth and leadership as important opportunities for the next stage of my career.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In my work, I value doing the best job I can, being thoughtful and critical in my work, and thinking deeply about the adjustments I make to legal bills and how files are handled. I also value learning from my team and remaining open to different perspectives.
In my personal life, family and staying actively involved with my daughters are extremely important to me. We stay busy with activities such as dance and jiu-jitsu, and I also enjoy expressing my creativity through writing and working on independent film projects. Maintaining meaningful connections and making time for the people and activities that matter to me are important parts of my life.
