Ten minutes with Anna

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my children, who inspire me every day to continue growing and striving to be my best. They remind me that resilience, courage, kindness, and integrity matter, especially when facing challenges. I believe they learn more from watching how I navigate difficult situations than from simply listening to my words, which motivates me to lead by example. Their presence encourages me to move forward with strength, compassion, and purpose in both my personal and professional life.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is: “Don’t be afraid to take on something you don’t feel 100% ready for.”

Some of the biggest opportunities in my career have come from stepping outside of my comfort zone, learning as I go, and trusting that I could figure things out. You don’t have to know everything before you raise your hand for the next opportunity—you just need to be willing to learn, ask questions, listen to others, and put in the work.

I’ve also learned that your career isn’t always going to follow the path you imagined. Sometimes a challenge, a difficult partnership, or a change in direction ends up teaching you the most and shaping you into a stronger leader.

Say yes to opportunities that stretch you, stay curious, and remember that growth often happens before you feel ready for it.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to remember that leadership is not defined solely by a title or position, but by the impact you have on others. I believe success comes from how you make people feel and the way you show up each day. Work hard, follow through on your commitments, support those around you, and lead with kindness and integrity. My goal is always to ensure that the people I interact with leave conversations feeling more confident, valued, and supported because of the experience they had with me. True leadership is about uplifting others and creating a positive influence wherever you are.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is the continued growth of health and wellness as an everyday priority for consumers. Shoppers are looking for products that support everything from energy and hydration to protein, weight management, immunity and overall wellness. They are also more interested in emerging brands and new formats than ever before.

At the same time, one of the biggest challenges is keeping up with how quickly the category is changing. Trends move fast, consumers are more educated, and retailers have to constantly balance innovation with value and simplicity for the shopper.

I see a huge opportunity in bringing the best of both worlds together through trusted private label brands, established national brands and emerging trend driven products, while making the assortment easy for shoppers to understand and shop. The retailers who can identify trends early and turn them into a compelling, accessible experience will be the ones who win.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me are integrity, relationships, hard work and being willing to keep learning. I believe in doing the right thing even when it is not the easiest choice, and I try to lead with honesty and respect in both my professional and personal life.

Relationships are especially important to me. I believe the best work happens when people trust each other, communicate openly and genuinely want to see each other succeed. I also value staying curious and being open to feedback because there is always an opportunity to grow.

Most importantly, I want to be someone who brings a positive attitude, works hard and makes a difference. Whether I am at work or with my family, I want to be known as someone who is dependable, supportive and always willing to show up for the people around me.
