About Anna
Anna Wu brings 15 years of experience in the tech industry to her role leading quantitative research for GCTE in Google Cloud. In this position, she has built a team from 0 to 1 and expanded it into a global team covering major GCP products, demonstrating the value of quantitative research in evaluating customer experience for key business areas like compute, storage, and network. Prior to Google, Anna spent 10 years at Microsoft, where she transitioned from UX research after graduate school into a data scientist role and built teams there until the pandemic. Her educational background includes a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a math major and a PhD in information science with a math minor, reflecting her consistent interest in mathematics alongside evolving professional paths. Anna attributes her success to the brilliant and collaborative people she has worked with throughout her career and values trustworthiness as a core principle that pays dividends over time.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I definitely really appreciate all the people along the way. I feel like I'm lucky enough to work with brilliant people... They are so nice and brilliant to help me, to collaborate with me. So I do feel like it's the people around you.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
It's from Nifisa... leverage your strengths and flexibility will pave you a long way in your career... resilience is the core of this, but then... strength and flexibility... flexibility also put you in a different place that men sometimes couldn't.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
One thing is the confidence part. Being Asian woman, especially immigrant to the United States... we may have the confidence in ourselves. But sometimes it's we don't have the confidence in others... how we can leverage the confidence for ourselves... put that out there, so that you kind of have that a little bit more, like, vulnerability moment, but that's okay.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Trustworthy... it's so rarely valuable, but it's needed. And it's pay for you the long ways.
