Her Interview

Ten minutes with Anna

01What do you attribute your success to?

Grit and resilience. I went through a lot of ups and downs in my career, and I've actually probably been laid off from half of the jobs that I actually hold full-time. But it's all about how you bounce back up. I was very much good at adapting to change.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best career lessons I’ve received came from Mike Walton at AMC Networks. By watching him lead, I learned the importance of professionalism, leading by example, and continuous growth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Broadcast your flaws and ask, admit that things that you don't know, and ask for help, and learn fast. When I first started my career, I was just too proud, I didn't want to ask questions or ask for help.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in leadership is that many people who need the most help don’t realize they need it. Helping individuals recognize opportunities for growth and become open to coaching is one of the greatest opportunities in the field.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Compassion for you and for others. That's really important to become a good leader. You have to like yourself to like others.
