Ten minutes with Annamarie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to creativity, adaptability, and the willingness to embrace opportunities that allow me to combine my professional skills with my personal passions. After working for a startup during the COVID-19 pandemic, I sought a fast-paced environment where I could apply my creative talents in new and meaningful ways, ultimately finding my place in logistics. Over the past five and a half years, I have expanded my expertise across print production, fleet graphics, videography, and social media content, taking pride in transforming ideas into compelling visual stories, whether filming B-roll throughout the warehouse or developing creative materials for a new Class 8 trucking school from the ground up. Seeing my content generate 15,000 organic Instagram views in just 30 days has been especially rewarding, but one of my proudest accomplishments is personal: rebuilding my 1995 Honda Civic from the ground up, converting it from an automatic to a manual transmission, competing in autocross, and discovering a passion for drifting. These experiences have taught me the value of persistence, continuous learning, and staying true to what inspires me. I believe success also comes from embracing change, building strong professional relationships, seeking mentorship, and surrounding yourself with supportive people. My journey has shown me that bringing creativity, authenticity, and passion into an unconventional career path can create opportunities I never expected.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the logistics industry is to not take everything too seriously and learn to stay adaptable. This is a fast-paced environment where priorities can change from one day to the next, and something that may feel overwhelming today can quickly become a distant memory tomorrow. The trucking, warehousing, and 3PL sectors move quickly and are also influenced by regulatory and government decisions, meaning that some circumstances will simply be outside of your control. Learning to recognize what you can influence, avoid dwelling on setbacks, and confidently pivot when circumstances change will serve you well. Stay resilient, keep moving forward, and remember that the ability to adapt is one of the most valuable strengths you can bring to this industry.
