Anne Lin, Pharm.D., FNAP, is the Chin Ling and Sally Wang Endowed Dean and Professor of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at St. John’s University, where she has served since 2022. With a career in pharmacy education spanning nearly four decades, Dr. Lin has held key leadership roles including founding dean, department chair, and tenured faculty at multiple institutions. Her professional focus encompasses curriculum innovation, faculty and leadership development, mentorship—particularly for women in pharmacy—and connecting academic programs to community needs through service learning.

Dr. Lin began her academic career in 1987 as a faculty member in pharmacy practice and has held tenured positions at St. John’s University and Wilkes University, where she served as department chair and full professor. In 2004, she became Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, and later served as founding dean of the College of Pharmacy at Notre Dame of Maryland University from 2008 to 2022. Throughout her career, she has been committed to building strong, innovative pharmacy programs and fostering the next generation of pharmacy leaders.

A graduate of St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Dr. Lin also completed a clinical pharmacy residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital. She is an active member of professional organizations including the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, where she served as president from 2020 to 2021, as well as the American Pharmacists Association, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Recognized for her leadership and contributions to pharmacy education, Dr. Lin continues to advance the field while mentoring future pharmacists and health sciences professionals.

I attribute my success to a combination of hard work, a commitment to continuous learning, the guidance of exceptional mentors throughout my career and active participation in local, state and national professional organizations.

“You can do it” gave me the encouragement to reach for what I thought was unreachable. “Always do what is right”.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Go beyond your comfort zone by seeking opportunities that challenge you and foster growth. Work hard, consistently do more than the minimum, and invest in building meaningful networks. Find mentors who will both guide and challenge you, helping you reach your full potential.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and transparency are the values I hold most important in both my work and personal life. They guide my decisions, shape my relationships, and ensure I lead with integrity in all that I do.
