About Anne
Anne Pokrifka specializes in technology solutions that help companies scale and become more operationally efficient. Her career includes work in the technology sectors of retail and technology companies including Amazon, American Eagle Outfitters, and Pandora. She currently leads her own firm, Grounded Leadership Group, LLC, which can be found online at groundedleadershipgroup.com. Anne earned her degree from Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business in 2004 after beginning her studies as a chemical engineer before transitioning to business. She has published the book Growing Tomorrow's Leaders, available on Amazon and through IngramSpark. An active member of Girl Scouts since childhood and now a leader for her daughter's troop, Anne applies an engineering-focused mindset to dissect problems and find root causes, guided by the motto to leave the world a little better than she found it. During her time at Virginia Tech she participated in the Student Government Association where she led public relations efforts including a statewide event, worked with the Panhellenic Society on PR and marketing, and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I have a very engineer mind, a very engineering-focused mind. I've always wanted to dissect a problem, figure out where the root cause of that problem is, and then fix it. I have this sort of motto from my career in Girl Scouts: leave this world a little better than you found it. When you combine the engineering mindset and the desire to constantly improve the world around me, you get this constant analytical look of what's going on around me and then how to make it more efficient, how to make it better.
