Her Story

About Annette

Annette Rowe is a licensed mental health counselor with two decades of clinical experience and the founder of Your Mind, Your Move, a venture created to bring evidence-based mental health tools to the general public. Over the course of her career, she has spent fifteen years working within community mental health agencies and the past five years building a private practice, where she currently holds contracts as an EAP provider with both Brightside Health and Tava Health. She earned her master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona, and holds active licensure in both Florida and Washington State, allowing her to serve clients across both regions through telehealth.

Rowe's clinical approach draws from multiple therapeutic traditions, blending Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with her training as a certified Cultivating Emotional Balance teacher and a grounding in Jungian depth psychology. This integrative framework shapes not only her one-on-one clinical work but also the educational content she produces through Your Mind, Your Move, where she uses a river metaphor inspired by her personal love of kayaking to help people learn to navigate life's uncertainties rather than control them. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and has been recognized for her work through a feature in Influential Women magazine.

Guided by the belief that most people who struggle are not broken but simply lacking the right tools, Rowe is focused on expanding access to practical, evidence-based mental health education beyond the therapy office. Through her YouTube channel and a growing online course platform based in Ocala, Florida, she continues to translate clinical expertise into accessible resources, while remaining active in speaking engagements, corporate wellness training, and licensing conversations with telehealth and EAP organizations. Her guiding philosophy, both professionally and personally, centers on humility, curiosity, and honoring one's own inner authority.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Annette

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a genuine commitment to helping others move through life's challenges.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've ever received is to stay humble and stay curious.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering this field to lead with humility and curiosity, to remain open to meeting each client wherever they are, and to never give up their own inner authority.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I see is getting sound mental health education and practical skills into the hands of the general public amid a landscape full of misinformation. I believe mental health should be taught in schools the same way we teach math, and I see this as one of the greatest opportunities in our field today.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Humility, curiosity, and mission-driven service guide both my work and my personal life. I also believe strongly in practicing what I teach, which means protecting my own wellbeing and inner authority just as I encourage my clients to protect theirs.
