About Annmarie
I have been in healthcare for numerous years in various roles. Currently I am a billing manager at an orthopedic institute with five surgeons where I specialize in revenue cycle management and am implementing a new EMR system. My role includes technical support, office management, and vendor reconciliation. Previously I studied international business and worked as an executive assistant handling calendar management, shipping, and supply chain. I hold a bachelor's degree from California State University Channel Islands and am pursuing an MBA fundamentals program through Said Business School affiliated with Oxford University after studying abroad in Scotland.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to having a supporting family, grit especially as a female in business, perseverance through imposter syndrome, being supportive of others and allowing them to support me, recognizing strengths of team members, and maintaining perspective that it is a team effort.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received is to keep learning, never think you know everything, have the ability to listen to others, and learn from each new situation.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Maintain your goals, do not burn out on your passions, prioritize self-care so that you have the ability to take care of others, recognize that it is a very rewarding field, and do not give up.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I really value kindness in all aspects of life. I go into every conversation with empathy, kindness, and compassion because you never know what type of day someone has had. I believe in maintaining good customer service that comes from a place of authenticity.
