Ten minutes with Annorah

01What do you attribute your success to?

If I had to attribute my success to anything, the first thing I would say is my faith. I genuinely believe that none of this would be possible without God. There have been so many moments in my life where I did not know how things would work out, but my faith gave me the confidence to keep moving forward and trust that there was a bigger plan.

The second reason is my parents. Any success I have today is built on the sacrifices they made long before I ever had an opportunity to achieve anything myself. They came from very humble backgrounds and worked incredibly hard to give my sister and me opportunities they never had. They invested everything they could into our education, our future, and our dreams.

What I appreciate most is not just what they provided, but how they raised me. I was never told that something was impossible because I was a woman. I was never encouraged to think smaller or lower my expectations. My parents believed in my dreams, sometimes even more than I did. They taught me that with faith, hard work, and perseverance, there is very little that cannot be achieved. Because of that, I have always thought big. I have never been afraid to pursue opportunities that seemed ambitious or take on challenges that felt outside my comfort zone. That mindset came directly from the way I was raised.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to stay curious and never stop learning.

We live in a world that is changing incredibly fast. New technologies, industries, and ways of working are constantly emerging. If you are not actively learning, you will eventually be left behind. The people who continue to grow in their careers are not necessarily the smartest people in the room. They are the ones who remain curious, ask questions, seek out new knowledge, and adapt.

I realized early on that no degree, certification, or job title would ever be enough on its own. Learning cannot stop when you leave school. In many ways, that is when the real learning begins. Some of the most valuable skills I have developed came from taking the initiative to understand something new, whether it was a technology, an industry, a business concept, or a challenge I had never encountered before.

I have also learned that growth happens when you are willing to step outside your comfort zone. Some of the best opportunities in my career came from saying yes to things I had never done before and trusting myself to learn along the way. You do not need to have all the answers on day 1. You need to be willing to figure them out.

The people who are successful over the long term are lifelong learners. They approach every conversation, project, and challenge with humility and curiosity. They understand that there is always something new to learn and someone new to learn from.

If there is one mindset that has had the greatest impact on my career, it is this: stay curious, stay adaptable, and never stop investing in yourself. The moment you think you know everything is the moment you stop growing. In today's world, those who continue learning will continue growing, while those who stop learning risk being left behind.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to stop waiting for permission.

Early in your career, it is easy to feel intimidated when you are the youngest person in the room, the only woman at the table, or surrounded by people with decades more experience than you. I know that feeling well. What I have learned, however, is that you do not need to know everything to contribute something valuable.

Many women hold themselves back because they believe they need one more certification, one more year of experience, or one more sign that they are ready. In reality, growth often comes from stepping into opportunities before you feel fully prepared. Some of the most impactful experiences in my career happened because I said yes to challenges that felt intimidating at the time.

I also encourage young women to trust their voice. Do not assume that someone else's title, age, or experience automatically makes their perspective more valuable than yours. If you have done the work, prepared yourself, and have something meaningful to contribute, speak up. Your ideas deserve to be heard.

Most importantly, do not place limits on yourself before the world does. Be ambitious. Be resilient. Be willing to take risks. The opportunities that shape your career are often on the other side of discomfort. Believe in your abilities, keep showing up, and never be afraid to take your seat at the table.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is the ability to use AI to solve real-world industrial challenges. Industries such as energy and manufacturing are the backbone of our economy, yet many still face challenges around efficiency and operational decision-making. For the first time, we have technology that can help organizations turn decades of operational data into actionable insights that improve performance and create measurable business value.

What excites me most is that AI is not replacing human expertise. It is amplifying it. The greatest impact comes when technology and domain knowledge work together to help people make better, faster, and more informed decisions.

More broadly, we are living through a period of unprecedented change. The pace of innovation is accelerating across every industry, creating incredible opportunities for those who are willing to stay curious, adapt, and continuously learn. I believe the individuals and organizations that will thrive are not necessarily the ones with the most knowledge today, but the ones with the ability to keep learning and evolving for tomorrow.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me are empathy, integrity and gratitude.

I believe one of the most important things in both work and life is remembering that people are human first. Every person you interact with has a unique background and challenges you may never see. I try to approach people with empathy and understanding, taking the time to understand who they are, where they are coming from, and what matters to them. Whether I am speaking with an executive or a student, I believe meaningful relationships are built when people feel heard and respected.

Integrity is another value I hold very closely. In both business and my personal life, I believe your reputation is one of the few things that cannot be bought. I strive to do what I say I am going to do, follow through on my commitments, and treat people with respect regardless of their title, accomplishments, prestige, or position. Character is revealed by how you treat people when there is nothing to gain in return.

I also have a deep sense of gratitude. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunities I have been given and for the sacrifices my parents made to create those opportunities. Remembering my roots from keeps me grounded and reminds me never to take people or experiences for granted.

At the end of the day, success is important, but how you treat people along the way is what truly defines your character and legacy.
