About Antoinette
Antoinette Cotman has dedicated her career to nursing and healthcare since the late 1990s. After earning a degree in biological science with a minor in chemistry, she worked as a medical technologist for seven years before pursuing nursing through an accelerated BSN program at Cleveland State University, which she completed in 18 months while working full time and graduated with honors. Cotman began her nursing career in the pediatric intensive care unit in July 2007 and has specialized in pediatrics and pediatric intensive care. She currently serves as a care coordinator in a pediatric subspecialty after holding management positions for five and a half years. Cotman is pursuing her master's degree with aspirations for higher leadership roles such as directorship in nursing. She actively participates in mentorship programs and community service through her book club of 16 years.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stay diligent. Stay steadfast. And don't let anybody box you in. If you're in nursing school, and you find your niche during your various rotations, pursue your niche. Don't let anybody tell you what you can't do. Prove to them what you can do.
