About Antonieta
Antonieta Chirindza serves as a Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatric) and Director of Nursing in the healthcare field, where she has worked for about three and a half years. Her career path includes roles in inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, community health settings serving underinsured populations, and mental health team lock settings, followed by her position as Director of Nursing. She currently focuses on public health in government, with expertise in sexual health including STIs, patient education, adherence, and safe sex practices, as well as harm reduction and prevention. Antonieta holds an ADN from Summer College earned in 2023, a BSN from George Washington University completed in 2024, and is pursuing an MSN at George Washington University with an expected graduation in 2028. She attributes her success to hard work, consistency, and perseverance, and emphasizes the value of learning through practice, mastering skills and medications, and staying informed with the latest evidence. Her guiding principle in work and personal life is to do no harm above all else.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Hard work and consistency and perseverance. You know, the usual grief.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
It's to learn, is to know, the practice. Applying myself to really know skills and medications, just be informed with the latest evidence.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Just work hard. Show up every day. Small steps, stepping stones for the next big thing. Just showing up, just staying with it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Managing responsibilities like family, school, and career, all demanding the same priority. Prioritizing education to reach goals and sustain family.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Do no harm, above all. If you cannot help a patient, walk away, but don't cause harm to someone, regardless of the level of suffering.
