About Antoniette

She is a distinguished public health leader, equity strategist, and academic with over two decades of experience advancing minority health, health equity, and community-engaged research at the state and national levels. Currently a PhD candidate in Health Behaviors at Indiana University Bloomington, she also serves as Associate Instructor, delivering culturally responsive instruction and mentoring undergraduate students in health behavior and public health. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Better Bridges, LLC, a consulting firm that bridges gaps between communities, faith-based organizations, and government entities to advance equity and improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations. She has served as Board President of the National Association of State Offices of Minority Health since 2009, providing national leadership on health equity. Her distinguished career at the Indiana State Department of Health spans nearly 25 years, where she most recently served as Director of the Office of Minority Health, managing over $15 million in programming and advising on health disparities, and previously served as Deputy Director and Minority Health Epidemiologist. She holds a Doctor of Public Health with an emphasis in Global Health Leadership from Indiana University Indianapolis and is completing her PhD in Health Behaviors at Indiana University Bloomington. She is recognized as a visionary, equity-driven, and collaborative leader whose life's work has been dedicated to transforming systems, strengthening communities, and ensuring that cultural awareness and health equity are not just values but practices that drive measurable results.
