About Antrea
Antrea Dowd serves as Division Director for Allied Health Academic Partnerships and Affairs, representing Dallas, Texas. With 34 years in healthcare that began as a candy striper, she has held positions as an EKG technician, home health aide, CNA, Certified Medical Assistant, patient care technician, office manager of a surgery center, program director, department chair, dean, practice manager, corporate trainer in Leadership and Organizational Development, and Director of Patient Experience. In her current role, Dowd builds partnerships with schools offering allied health programs to address staffing challenges through student clinical rotations and upskilling initiatives for frontline employees, while also serving as president of her colleague network to support leadership development and volunteering efforts. She earned a certificate in Medical Assisting from Western Career College, an associate degree in Medical Assisting from Carrington College, a bachelor's degree in Business from DeVry, and a master's degree in Business from Keller. Dowd received the Innovative Teacher of the Year Award in 2010 for her work developing curriculum and programs as an allied health instructor with Chicago Public Schools, and she sits on the Innovative Board for the National Health Careers Association.
